Kiss boring headshots goodbye!

Leonie and her sister Michelle are twins and own Holistic Massage here in Napa. The sisters came to me wanting head shots for marketing purposes but didn't want your typical stuffy headshot with a boring studio background. I loved the idea since my style is anything but stuffy and boring! They claimed that they were not "photogenic" but I don't buy that for a minute! Take a look for yourself...

Take two!

Sometimes things take time. You can never predict what life is going to throw your way and photoshoots are no exception! The first session that I had with the Johanson family, their sweet son Jake literally came down with the flu as we began our session. The poor little guy was so sick and the rest of the family ended up with it as well. So, of course we rescheduled and tonight we went out and took a second take at our session. Everyone was feeling great and I had so much fun highlighting this family's spunk and love of life! As always, here is a peek into the evening...

Laudy Daudy

I love reconnecting with old friends! One of my closest girlfriends from high school came up to Napa for the weekend to see her little sister graduate from high school. I am still trying to get over the fact that her sister, baby sister, is old enough to graduate! Now that makes me feel old! Anyway, Sarah, her husband Brian and beautiful daughter Kyla live down south and it is very rare that I get to see her. And since Sarah is now expecting another little girl I thought it would be fun to go out and take some maternity pictures. (Really just an excuse to spend more time with my friend!) Here is a peek into the shoot...

Girls just wanna have FUN!

We were at the beach for a photo shoot with Sarah's Silks on Saturday so we decided to go a little early to let the girls play before it was time to "work". Makenzie, Gillian and Brooke had such a great time chasing the waves and giggling as the water hit their toes. And all us moms had such a great time watching our girls having so much fun!

Sloan has made her appearance!

Here are a couple more shots from baby Sloan's first photo shoot this past Saturday. What an angel!

Sarah's Silks Fall catalog

This weekend I did a photoshoot for Sarah's Silks Fall catalog and had such a great time with the kids. We had a crew of about 6 kids per day and had so much fun dressing them up as mermaids, dragons, princesses and pirates! All of her imaginative play clothing and accesssories are made with such detail and the joy was evident as each child got to dress up. Sarah creates the most beautiful line of children's imaginative dress up clothing that I have ever seen!! To see her line, please visit www.SarahsSilks.com.

Thank you Sarah and Jay Jay for inviting me to be a part of this, I had a great time! Here is a peek into the shoot...

To be continued...

I spent the afternoon with this sweet baby girl today. She has a big voice but such a lovely demeanor. The love that this family has for this little girl is breathtaking. We had to cut the shoot a little short, but here is a peek into todays session. More to come...

Fathers Day is just around the corner!

I was trying to think of something great to do for my husband and father.father in-law this Father's Day and I thought DUH! I am going to actually photograph MY OWN children and give a portrait gift like a canvas, coffee table book or storybook collage (shhh! don't tell!). There is still time to get in for a Father's Day shoot so send me an email or visit my site at www.SarahLaneStudios.com if you are interested! Here are a few of my favorites of my little munchkins, I have to say they are pretty stinkin' cute!

The Duncan Family

Sunday I spent the evening with the Duncan family. Their son was embarrassed to be photographed but as soon as he actually got in front of the camera he became quite the ham! This family was up for anything (including tromping through goose poop!) and I had such a good time with them! Here are a couple of highlights from the shoot...

I do...

Now I am not a wedding photographer, I do not photograph weddings. I have friends that are amazing at wedding photography, but for me... I photograph kids! But when Keri and Ehren asked me to do their wedding, the draw was Keri's shared passion for children. They had 9 kids in the wedding alone! The love that these two have is so pure and passionate and it was an honor to be at the event. I am really looking forward to photographing their house full of kids in the years to come! Here is a sneak peak into the event, there will be more pics to come!
